NYX Lip liner and Soft Matte Lip Cream Review!

14398152_332087850471059_1442604764_n

While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.

Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.

Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.

Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!

These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.

Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!

Things I Am Grateful For.

12971013_251365725209939_6078327683887094209_o

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day. Todays post as you can see is going to be about things that I am grateful for! I have been thinking a lot recently and I tend to worry about little things that don’t really matter like ‘not having enough money’ or about what people think of me. But what I sometimes forget to do is think about the things that I am grateful for. So here we go..

  1. My partner. He is always there for me, he always makes me feel good about myself and when I feel down he is always there to make me feel better.
  2. I have a secure income
  3. I am taking driving lessons which I love
  4. I have the most gorgeous little dog and she always fusses me and makes me feel loved
  5. My family
  6. Life! There are so many possibilities, we are all here on this journey together
  7. My blog and blogging friends!
  8. Music
  9. Good health- I am very grateful for this! This week I was quite worried about a lump on my head that had got a little bigger  and I was really worried about it. I made a doctors appointment and the doctor checked it, everything turned out to be fine. I was so relieved!
  10. Laughter. Don’t you just feel so much better when you laugh?

I have so many things to be grateful for, sometimes its just nice to sit and think about all the things you have.

*Update*

I have recently started writing a column for ‘Love from’ magazine, it is a quarterly lifestyle magazine by Florence Matthews. Its so exciting to be writing a column for them!

Not much else has happened recently apart from that! Just the usual: Shopping and then thinking ‘omg why did I spend all of my money’ hahaha please tell me I’m not the only one that does that! I have a serious problem.

That’s it for today.. I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to think of the things that you are thankful for! You will feel so much better for it.

Things I Love About Summer!

12670895_245135035833008_6751163195942991005_n.jpg

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all having a wonderful day, I am spending the day tidying and organizing my new clothes rails and my makeup storage.

Todays post is based on all things summer related, although were not quite there yet, I couldn’t be more excited! Summer is my favourite time of the year. Although I do like Christmas time I soon find myself dreaming about summer and wishing that winter will end soon.

Here are some of my favourite things about summer:

  1. Waking up for work and it actually being light!
  2. Sunglasses.. yay!
  3. Not having to wear a big coat with every outfit
  4. Bright coloured clothes
  5. Summer dresses
  6. Being tanned (or in my case using dove gradual tan because I cant tan to save my life)
  7. Bright coloured nail polish
  8. Flower crowns
  9. Warm weather
  10. Longer days
  11. Sandals/flip flops!
  12. Long walks
  13. Ice cream
  14. My birthday is in summer
  15. Light nights
  16. Music

I can not wait until it starts to get a little warmer and summer begins, I just love it! Ooh also I have some exciting news! I took my driving theory test on Monday and I PASSED! *Yay* I am so excited because this means I am one step closer. I can not wait until I can drive and we get a car because then we will be able to do so much more. When you don’t have a car you are kind of limited in terms of places you can go. Lucas has booked his driving test for a couple of months time so fingers crossed!

I think a summer clothes shopping spree is definitely needed soon. What are some of your favourite things about summer?

✿ Growing out a pixie cut- The struggle! ✿

meeefinalio.jpg

I got my hair cut into a pixie cut in July last year and I did enjoy having it but now I am ready to grow it out into a bob and boy have I realised- growing out a pixie cut is hard!

This is my second time growing out my pixie cut, the first time I got tired of not having it in a proper style and ended up having it all chopped off again, but this time I am determined to grow it out into a bob! So now this is the second attempt at growing out a pixie cut I feel that it is time I write a post about the cons of growing out a pixie cut for my fellow ladies out there that are in the same position or have been there at some point!

✿ Constantly having to trim the back of your hair

✿ Less hair to play around with- I so miss messy buns!!

✿ Once it starts to grow its kind of hard to maintain

✿ Styling is also hard once it starts to grow especially when its ‘not quite a bob’ so it just sort of hangs there.

✿ It takes a g e s to grow out *sigh*

✿ When you have a bad hair day you cant just ‘tie it up’ Oh how I envy you long haired girls!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved having a pixie cut at first but once I decided to grow it out that’s when it started to get hard. It just takes so long to get it to that perfect ‘bob’ length.

If any of you are in the same position as me and you are currently growing out a pixie cut here are some tips:

✿ Hair grips are your best friend!!

✿…Headbands are also your best friend.

✿ Do a braid or twist to keep the front of your pixie off your face on bad hair days

✿ When the side bits get too long tuck them behind your ears

✿ If your hair is being unruly like mine ALWAYS is then try a coconut oil hair mask, this always makes mine smoother and easier to style

✿ Try and be patient even though its so hard!

Slowly but surely I am getting there.. I am trying to embrace my hair at every stage but I mostly just end up looking like a potato with short hair hahaha.

Have you ever had a pixie cut? If so what are your tips for growing one out?

Come and say hi!

☽O O T D☾

First of all I am sorry that this weeks video is a little late, I had a little problem with uploading and then had to alter the video but not to worry! This weeks video is an OOTD which I realised is actually my first one on Youtube!

I went for a comfy casual look because we spent the day walking with our dog, but where we went just seemed like the perfect place to film a video and the weather was so nice. I really enjoy making fashion videos and there will definitely be more to come soon! I think my main focus is going to be on the fashion/lifestyle side of things in my Youtube videos because that is what I enjoy doing the most. I hope you all enjoy the video and don’t forget to like and subscribe!

♡ Fashion Staples- The Leather Backpack! ♡

12782408_223180241361821_2082736375_n.jpg

Remember in one of my other posts when I said I just couldn’t justify buying another bag? Well… lets just forget I said that.

Behold- The black leather backpack. I have been searching for the perfect one for a while now and when I spotted this in Primark last week I just had to have it! It is perfect, I prefer zip ones and finally I found the perfect one for me, and for only £10! The fact that it is black means that it goes with basically any outfit which is always a plus. The front pocket of the backpack is perfect for keeping essentials in like any makeup I might need, lip balm, hair clips, hand sanitizer etc.

The size of the back compartment is perfect and fits everything I need in, but still keeps its shape when its not filled up with loads of stuff. Oh and I obviously had to add a pom pom keychain onto the zip because I am completely obsessed with them. I cant help it I already have 3 and I still want more.

You can find a similar backpack to this at boohoo.com here or if you prefer the drawstring type here. I have also seen them in shops like H&M and New Look. I can already tell this is going to be a staple for me over these next few months, I’ve used it so much already!

I love backpacks which is weird because I never really liked them when I was at school! What do you think, do you like backpacks or prefer handbags?
