Its been a while, but I really have missed blogging! To get back into things I thought Id do a post about a few things I’ve been into lately and some things that have inspired me.
One of the reasons I haven’t blogged recently is that I haven’t felt that inspired, I didn’t know what I wanted to blog about. While at work the other day I was having a little moan about how I missed blogging and how I never had ‘time’ to do it anymore. My manager gave me the little push I needed and said if I really want to do it then I will make time and that is very true! So I have decided I’m going to put some time aside and start blogging again.
✮Makeup- I have been playing around with different makeup looks recently, trying to step out of my comfort zone and use more colour so when the black Friday deals were on a couple of weeks ago I purchased the Urban Decay electric palette while it was 30% off at Debenhams. I had wanted this palette for so long, the colours in it are beautiful. The third picture above is a look created with the palette by ‘@sssamanthaa’ on Instagram. I love this look and I cant wait to try it out on myself.
✮Writing- After reading about them and putting it off for so long because I didn’t really know where to start.. I finally started a bullet journal! Hopefully this will help me to be more organized with blogging too.
✮Fashion- I am loving the big glasses trend at the moment, the bottom right picture is me wearing some I purchased from Primark the other day. I absolutely love them! I think the gold frame makes them look really pretty too.
✮Reading- I recently re read my favourite inspirational book- Sophia Amoruso’s #Girlboss This book always inspires me to keep going and push to work and achieve my dreams.
✮Quote- ‘Go the extra mile, its never crowded’ I love this quote, if you really want to do something, try harder- go the extra mile and you will achieve your goal. Recently I have been making more time in a morning to do different makeup looks and post on my Instagram. By doing this I’ve been getting more practice with my makeup and getting pictures to keep track of my progress.
Hello everybody! Since getting into using lush products I have been ridiculously excited for the launch of this years Halloween products. So on the day they launched I popped into my local lush to pick up a couple of the products, I want to try all of them so I will go back and pick a couple more next week but these are the first two that I chose. Lord of Misrule and Sparkly Pumpkin! I have never tried any of the Lush seasonal products before so I was really excited!
When I went into Lush I spoke to a lovely member of staff that showed me all of the Halloween collection as it was my first time trying them and I liked the things she told me about Lord of Misrule, it is good for aching muscles and it also has popping candy in it! At first I thought it might be a little boring with it just being green but then they did a demo in the shop and I was surprised to see it has red in it as well which makes it look so pretty in the bath!
This is what Lord of Misrule looked like in the bath! The colours are so pretty and the smell is absolutely amazing, I think I will have to pick up some of the shower gel next time. Another thing I loved about this bath bomb was that it turned my bath water red! When I got out of the bath my skin felt so soft which I loved!
I haven’t used my sparkly pumpkin bubble bar yet but it smells soooo nice! Overall I am so pleased with this years Lush Halloween products, I cant wait until Friday when all of the Christmas products come out! I will definitely be stocking up on some snow fairy shower gel!
While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.
Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.
Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.
Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!
These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.
Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!
Hello everyone I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday! As you may be able to tell from the title, todays post is going to be about all things pink. I am so excited because today I am teaming up with Glossier to share some of my favourite pink things to celebrate the #glossierpink range! Glossier is a beauty company inspired by what girls need in real life. They are creating the new essentials: easy-to-use basics that form the backbone to your unique beauty routine. You can find their beauty products on their website here
I have always been a real girly girl, I just love anything in pink, handbags, lipstick, blush, anything!
Some of my favourite pink things include:
Nails/nail varnish: I must have about 50 different shades of pink nail varnish, I just love it! It’s my favourite colour to paint my nails and if I ever get them done at the salon I usually opt for pink then too!
Clothes: I actually don’t own many pink items of clothing but I do have the pink jumper in the picture above that I love. It’s so cozy!
Lipstick/lipgloss: I do love a bright pink lip, especially in the summer! It completes a makeup look and adds a girly feel.
Basically, I love anything pink! I have a pink fluffy charm for my handbag that is super cute! I bought my little dog a pink collar which she wears all the time, even a little pink coat for her for winter.. she looks so cute in it!
I have loved doing this collaboration with Glossier, especially getting to talk about all things pink! Don’t forget to check out their website and beauty range here for more information!
Are you a fan of pink? If so what are your favourite pink things?
Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day. Todays post as you can see is going to be about things that I am grateful for! I have been thinking a lot recently and I tend to worry about little things that don’t really matter like ‘not having enough money’ or about what people think of me. But what I sometimes forget to do is think about the things that I am grateful for. So here we go..
My partner. He is always there for me, he always makes me feel good about myself and when I feel down he is always there to make me feel better.
I have a secure income
I am taking driving lessons which I love
I have the most gorgeous little dog and she always fusses me and makes me feel loved
Life! There are so many possibilities, we are all here on this journey together
My blog and blogging friends!
Good health- I am very grateful for this! This week I was quite worried about a lump on my head that had got a little bigger and I was really worried about it. I made a doctors appointment and the doctor checked it, everything turned out to be fine. I was so relieved!
Laughter. Don’t you just feel so much better when you laugh?
I have so many things to be grateful for, sometimes its just nice to sit and think about all the things you have.
I have recently started writing a column for ‘Love from’ magazine, it is a quarterly lifestyle magazine by Florence Matthews. Its so exciting to be writing a column for them!
Not much else has happened recently apart from that! Just the usual: Shopping and then thinking ‘omg why did I spend all of my money’ hahaha please tell me I’m not the only one that does that! I have a serious problem.
That’s it for today.. I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to think of the things that you are thankful for! You will feel so much better for it.
The #SoppySundays tag was created by Alex at thelipstickladyblog.wordpress.com Rebecca at staticnova.blogspot.com Go and check out both of their blogs because they are amazing! I am very excited to be doing this tag today, if you would like to join in head over to the @soppysundays twitter account for more information.
Onto the questions..
1. Who is your biggest inspiration in life?
My partner, Lucas
2. How does that person inspire you?
He inspires me because he always seems to find the good in every situation and he always makes me feel so good about myself. He is so kind and never fails to make me smile.
3. If you could give one piece of advice to another blogger in your field, what would it be?
Write about things that you love, things that you are passionate about. Don’t just write about things because everyone else is writing about them, just do your thing!
4. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a blog?
Go for it! I started my blog in August and I haven’t looked back since, I love it! Also I recommend to join in with the twitter chats and just engage with other bloggers in general, the blogging community is amazing.
5. Why did you start your blog?
I had wanted to start one for a while but I was to nervous about what people would think and I didn’t know where to start! But one day in August I finally took the leap and made my blog here on WordPress.
6. Where do you find that most support for your blog comes from? (Family, other bloggers etc)
My family know about my blog and are supportive of it but I also get support from other bloggers! They are all so lovely and leave nice comments and also my blogging friends are always there to give advice on my blog if I need it.
So those are my questions, I have loved doing this tag and remember to check the @soppysundays twitter for more information on how you can join in!
Hello everyone! Today I am going to be reviewing this pretty little palette. Ever since Collection brought out their ‘Eyes uncovered’ Palettes I have been loving them. The only one I don’t have is the ‘Nude Grey’ palette but that is only because the colours just aren’t for me. While shopping in Superdrug this week I spotted this: The nude rose palette! I have never picked up something so quickly in my life.. its like this palette was made for me. I love rose/rose gold eye shadow shades.
This palette contains 6 stunning shimmery shades which can be combined to create the perfect nude rose eye makeup look.
Unfortunately the eye shadows don’t have names. The pigmentation of these eye shadows is brilliant quality, I think this palette is definitely my favourite out of the 3 that I own The dark shade at the end is also really pretty and it has little specks of pink coloured shimmer in it. They are such good value for money too at £3.99!
I cant wait to film a makeup video using this palette, I am so in love with all of the shades!
Have you tried this palette or any other Collection palettes? If so what did you think?
