NYX Lip liner and Soft Matte Lip Cream Review!

14398152_332087850471059_1442604764_n

While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.

Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.

Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.

Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!

These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.

Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!

#SoppySundays Tag!

1XGQKrcK

The #SoppySundays tag was created by Alex at thelipstickladyblog.wordpress.com Rebecca at staticnova.blogspot.com Go and check out both of their blogs because they are amazing! I am very excited to be doing this tag today, if you would like to join in head over to the @soppysundays twitter account for more information.

Onto the questions..

1. Who is your biggest inspiration in life?

My partner, Lucas

2. How does that person inspire you?

He inspires me because he always seems to find the good in every situation and he always makes me feel so good about myself. He is so kind and never fails to make me smile.

3. If you could give one piece of advice to another blogger in your field, what would it be?

Write about things that you love, things that you are passionate about. Don’t just write about things because everyone else is writing about them, just do your thing!

4. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a blog?

Go for it! I started my blog in August and I haven’t looked back since, I love it! Also I recommend to join in with the twitter chats and just engage with other bloggers in general, the blogging community is amazing.

5. Why did you start your blog?

I had wanted to start one for a while but I was to nervous about what people would think and I didn’t know where to start! But one day in August I finally took the leap and made my blog here on WordPress.

6. Where do you find that most support for your blog comes from? (Family, other bloggers etc)

My family know about my blog and are supportive of it but I also get support from other bloggers! They are all so lovely and leave nice comments and also my blogging friends are always there to give advice on my blog if I need it.

So those are my questions, I have loved doing this tag and remember to check the @soppysundays twitter for more information on how you can join in!

♡ DIY Felt Patch-A Tutorial ♡

12440420_235746673438511_1779312008555773824_o.jpg

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Today I thought I would share a little DIY with you all. Since getting back into sewing I have been trying a few new things, one of them being this felt patch. I have noticed recently that patches seem to be making a comeback and so I thought this would be the perfect DIY project.

So for this DIY you will need:

✿Felt in the colours of your choice

✿Invisible thread

✿Scissors

✿Embroidery thread

First I started by deciding what design I wanted to use, I chose a love heart shape with the quote ‘Girl boss’ because lets face it, I’m still totally inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s book!

I drew a heart shape onto the pink felt and cut it out, then a slightly smaller heart shape on the white felt and cut that out. Then with a pencil I lightly wrote ‘Girl boss’ onto the white felt and embroidered over the writing with black embroidery thread.

I then put the white heart in the middle of the pink heart and used invisible thread to sew them both together, I used invisible thread so that it would look neater. And Voila! My patch was finished! I love this because it is a quick and easy DIY and the finished product is super cute! I definitely want to make some more of these because I am really pleased with how this one turned out.

If you are stuck for ideas here are some pictures I found on google for some #Patchinspo!

I love the backpack- so 90’s! I really like this trend and I cant wait to put my patch onto my denim jacket.

I hope you all enjoyed this little tutorial and maybe even design your own patches!

✿ Growing out a pixie cut- The struggle! ✿

meeefinalio.jpg

I got my hair cut into a pixie cut in July last year and I did enjoy having it but now I am ready to grow it out into a bob and boy have I realised- growing out a pixie cut is hard!

This is my second time growing out my pixie cut, the first time I got tired of not having it in a proper style and ended up having it all chopped off again, but this time I am determined to grow it out into a bob! So now this is the second attempt at growing out a pixie cut I feel that it is time I write a post about the cons of growing out a pixie cut for my fellow ladies out there that are in the same position or have been there at some point!

✿ Constantly having to trim the back of your hair

✿ Less hair to play around with- I so miss messy buns!!

✿ Once it starts to grow its kind of hard to maintain

✿ Styling is also hard once it starts to grow especially when its ‘not quite a bob’ so it just sort of hangs there.

✿ It takes a g e s to grow out *sigh*

✿ When you have a bad hair day you cant just ‘tie it up’ Oh how I envy you long haired girls!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved having a pixie cut at first but once I decided to grow it out that’s when it started to get hard. It just takes so long to get it to that perfect ‘bob’ length.

If any of you are in the same position as me and you are currently growing out a pixie cut here are some tips:

✿ Hair grips are your best friend!!

✿…Headbands are also your best friend.

✿ Do a braid or twist to keep the front of your pixie off your face on bad hair days

✿ When the side bits get too long tuck them behind your ears

✿ If your hair is being unruly like mine ALWAYS is then try a coconut oil hair mask, this always makes mine smoother and easier to style

✿ Try and be patient even though its so hard!

Slowly but surely I am getting there.. I am trying to embrace my hair at every stage but I mostly just end up looking like a potato with short hair hahaha.

Have you ever had a pixie cut? If so what are your tips for growing one out?

Come and say hi!

☽O O T D☾

First of all I am sorry that this weeks video is a little late, I had a little problem with uploading and then had to alter the video but not to worry! This weeks video is an OOTD which I realised is actually my first one on Youtube!

I went for a comfy casual look because we spent the day walking with our dog, but where we went just seemed like the perfect place to film a video and the weather was so nice. I really enjoy making fashion videos and there will definitely be more to come soon! I think my main focus is going to be on the fashion/lifestyle side of things in my Youtube videos because that is what I enjoy doing the most. I hope you all enjoy the video and don’t forget to like and subscribe!

☽R A G G E D!☾

I have been so inspired by the brand ‘The Ragged Priest’ recently,  I just love all of the pieces in their collection. I made a mood board with some of the pieces from their shop that I have been loving.

Sweetdreams mom jean (here) Make believe crop top (here) Bow crop top (here)

The jeans are hand painted which I think is amazing and they are super cute too! I am in love with these and I have been looking for some mom jeans for ages, unfortunately I can not afford to pay £95 *cries*

The next picture is just wow! I love both the top and skirt they are amazing. Sometimes when I go clothes shopping I have no idea what I am looking for but I feel like when I go onto the Ragged Priest website I just want everything!

The bow crop top is actually listed as ‘bow tits top’ but I didn’t call it that above as that wouldn’t be very lady like of me hahaha… I really like this one but its not something I would wear myself because I just know by looking at it that it wouldn’t suit me, but I just had to add it in anyway because I really like it!

*TIP* If you are ever so slightly skint like me but also love expensive brands like the ragged priest or others, search them on depop, I found this recently and I am addicted! YOURE WELCOME!

Do you like the Ragged Priest? Which pieces have you been loving recently?

♡ Pastel/Floral Daydream ♡

pasteeeeel

*Ok so first things first.. I neeeed a new blogging schedule. The one I have at the minute doesn’t work for me so I am going to change it to Monday (video posts) and Friday for my blog posts.*

Lately I have been inspired by all things pastel and floral, wether it be clothes, bags, accessories especially hair.. I have been so tempted to dye my hair a pastel colour again but I am trying to grow it out and I don’t really want to damage it with more bleach but its so tempting! Why does bleaching your hair have to be so damaging?

I have also been loving pastel/floral print bags and I am obsessed with this backpack from Cath Kidston it is soooo cute! I am so tempted to buy it but I cant justify buying another bag as I have so many.. who knows maybe I will attempt to make one!

My pastel obsession is also reflecting on my fabric choices because I seem to be going for girly/pastel/floral prints which I am just in looooove with at the moment! I think I might make a backpack out of this print…

Also yesterday I went shopping and bought these which all seem to have a pastel theme.. I am so happy with the choker necklaces because they are so cute! The unicorn tote was actually something I saw at the till and I bought it just because I liked the print with the lovely little unicorn and then I got this pen pot for my desk which is also pastel…. yay!

What colours/prints have been inspiring you lately?
