NYX Lip liner and Soft Matte Lip Cream Review!

While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.

Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.

Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.

Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!

These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.

Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!

♡ DIY Felt Patch-A Tutorial ♡

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Today I thought I would share a little DIY with you all. Since getting back into sewing I have been trying a few new things, one of them being this felt patch. I have noticed recently that patches seem to be making a comeback and so I thought this would be the perfect DIY project.

So for this DIY you will need:

✿Felt in the colours of your choice

✿Invisible thread

✿Embroidery thread

First I started by deciding what design I wanted to use, I chose a love heart shape with the quote ‘Girl boss’ because lets face it, I’m still totally inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s book!

I drew a heart shape onto the pink felt and cut it out, then a slightly smaller heart shape on the white felt and cut that out. Then with a pencil I lightly wrote ‘Girl boss’ onto the white felt and embroidered over the writing with black embroidery thread.

I then put the white heart in the middle of the pink heart and used invisible thread to sew them both together, I used invisible thread so that it would look neater. And Voila! My patch was finished! I love this because it is a quick and easy DIY and the finished product is super cute! I definitely want to make some more of these because I am really pleased with how this one turned out.

If you are stuck for ideas here are some pictures I found on google for some #Patchinspo!

I love the backpack- so 90’s! I really like this trend and I cant wait to put my patch onto my denim jacket.

I hope you all enjoyed this little tutorial and maybe even design your own patches!

♡ Being social and blogging ♡

I have been wanting to join in with the twitter chats for a while now, before this week I had only ever joined in with the #bblogggers chat on twitter once, not because I didn’t want to join in with the chats but because I didn’t know when they were or I would forget and then miss them!

This Week I have joined in with the #bbloggers chat, fbloggers chat, #bdib chat and #crazy bloggers chat and I have had so much fun! Twitter chats are a great way to meet new bloggers and find new blogs. Because I didn’t know when all of the twitter chats were I started by googling ‘twitter chats for bloggers’ and I found a blog post written by Becky who I have met through twitter, she also hosts the #fbloggers chat. I found the post really useful because Becky had listed all of the twitter chats that are on Monday-Sunday and what times they are on at. I screenshotted them on my phone so that I wouldn’t forget and it really worked! You can find Becky’s post here.

I have loved joining in with the twitter chats and its great to meet other bloggers and check out their blogs, I especially love how there are different topics every week. For example in the #fbloggers chat this week the topic was about storage with questions like ‘How do you store your clothes? Do you have a special system?’ It was really good to join in and see other peoples answers, I got a few tips on storage ideas and now I have been inspired to get rid of my old shabby wardrobes and invest in some clothes rails! They will look so much better.

Because I am so unorganized with the chats I received some great advice from Hannah who runs the blog hannahlouiseblogs.wordpress.com  to put them on my phone calendar/write them in my diary to remind me of when the twitter chats are! I have done this and I find it way more useful!

Overall I have loved joining in with all of the twitter chats and I am so happy with how welcoming everyone was. The blogging community is such a positive and happy place! Have you ever joined in with any of the twitter chats?

✿ Growing out a pixie cut- The struggle! ✿

I got my hair cut into a pixie cut in July last year and I did enjoy having it but now I am ready to grow it out into a bob and boy have I realised- growing out a pixie cut is hard!

This is my second time growing out my pixie cut, the first time I got tired of not having it in a proper style and ended up having it all chopped off again, but this time I am determined to grow it out into a bob! So now this is the second attempt at growing out a pixie cut I feel that it is time I write a post about the cons of growing out a pixie cut for my fellow ladies out there that are in the same position or have been there at some point!

✿ Constantly having to trim the back of your hair

✿ Less hair to play around with- I so miss messy buns!!

✿ Once it starts to grow its kind of hard to maintain

✿ Styling is also hard once it starts to grow especially when its ‘not quite a bob’ so it just sort of hangs there.

✿ It takes a g e s to grow out *sigh*

✿ When you have a bad hair day you cant just ‘tie it up’ Oh how I envy you long haired girls!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved having a pixie cut at first but once I decided to grow it out that’s when it started to get hard. It just takes so long to get it to that perfect ‘bob’ length.

If any of you are in the same position as me and you are currently growing out a pixie cut here are some tips:

✿ Hair grips are your best friend!!

✿…Headbands are also your best friend.

✿ Do a braid or twist to keep the front of your pixie off your face on bad hair days

✿ When the side bits get too long tuck them behind your ears

✿ If your hair is being unruly like mine ALWAYS is then try a coconut oil hair mask, this always makes mine smoother and easier to style

✿ Try and be patient even though its so hard!

Slowly but surely I am getting there.. I am trying to embrace my hair at every stage but I mostly just end up looking like a potato with short hair hahaha.

Have you ever had a pixie cut? If so what are your tips for growing one out?

Come and say hi!

Superdrug haul / Bargain of the day!

Hello everyone!

On Sunday night I was browsing on the Superdrug website and as usual, I just couldn’t help myself and I ended up ordering a few things. If you haven’t ordered from Superdrug online before I definitely recommend it, the delivery is fast and if you spend over £10 you get free delivery!

So first of all I got these two MUA blushers, they were only £1 each! The top one is ‘Marshmallow’ and the bottom one is ‘Candyfloss’

Next I got these three lipsticks which were also £1 each! The first shade is ‘Tulip’ the second is ‘Totally Nude’ and the third just says ‘Shade 2’ I love this one the most! I thought I would try a darker shade for autumn.

I also got these two nail varnishes by MUA, ‘Cherry blossom’ and ‘Truffle cream’ I cant wait to try these!

I needed some eyeliner so I thought I would try the MUA one.. and their concealer in the shade ‘Fair’ I think I got a little carried away- everything I’ve showed you so far is MUA!

I have heard a lot about the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water so I thought I would get a Travel sized one to try out and see if I like it. I will do a review on this when I have tried it!

Last off I got this foundation by Rimmel- I mentioned in one of my last posts I would be going back to my Rimmel foundation as it is my favourite. It applies so nicely and it lasts all day, I love it!

One last thing I would like to share with you all is something I got today, I did my usual shop in Asda and in the reduced basket I found one of these for £1!! I always say this but never forget to look in the reduced section if you ever go to Asda because you can find some really good things! This is in shade 28 and it is so pretty.

So that was my Superdrug haul/Bargain of the day! Whenever I visit Superdrugs website I just cant resist ordering a few things. I love all the MUA range they have some really lovely things, next I would like to try out some of their lip laquers because they look amazing!

That’s all for now!
