NYX Lip liner and Soft Matte Lip Cream Review!

While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.

Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.

Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.

Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!

These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.

Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!

A Big Hello! (& New Makeup Storage!)

Hello everybody! Its been a while.. I know. I have been so busy with work and things that I’ve just not had time to blog but I have missed it so much! While reading through some of my old blog posts I finally deciced it was time to start blogging again.

So many things have happened recently.. My best friend finally moved back to where I live and now I can see her all of the time again.. yay! I started a new job at Models own working with the things I love most..makeup and nails.. I love it so much and we have just realised a brand new makeup range which I am really excited about.

For todays post I decided to share my new makeup storage because my makeup collection has grown so much over these past few months and it really needed organising so I bought some drawers and some acrylic drawers to go on the top. I’m so happy I decided to sort it out properly and now I have an excuse to buy more makeup!

So first of all I have the little acrylic drawers, in the top compartment I keep all of my favourite nail varnishes and lipsticks and then in the drawers I have some other lip products, lipsticks, glosses and my beloved MUA lip laquers.

Then I have my big drawers; the first drawer is for all of my face products. Highlighters, foundations, contour palettes etc. I recently got a highlighter called ‘rainbeau’ which is a gorgeous rainbow highlighter.

The second drawer is filled with my eyeshadow palettes and my new eyebrow palette from models own which is literally AMAZING! Its just like benefits ‘brow zings’ you get a highlight for your brow bone, wax and a powder for filling in your brows. I have collected so many eyeshadow palettes recently aswell, my favourite at the moment is makeup revolutions new-turals vs neuturals palette!

This next drawer I just use for miscellaneous items like these.. the coloured mascara wands are from models own. They have a new mascara out where you can pick whichever wand you want to go with it depending on what look you want to go for!

Lastly I have the drawer where I keep all of my skincare items, my skin has been quite bad recently and so I decided to try the lush ultrabland facial cleanser and I have been loving it so far. My skin feels nice and fresh after using it and it has toned down some of my spots.

I am in love with my new storage and I’m so glad it is finally all organized.

Over the next few days I am going to organize a new blogging schedule and try to stick to it because I definitely want to get back into blogging, I’ve missed it so much!

How do you store your makeup? Or what would be your dream makeup storage?

Things I Love About Summer!

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all having a wonderful day, I am spending the day tidying and organizing my new clothes rails and my makeup storage.

Todays post is based on all things summer related, although were not quite there yet, I couldn’t be more excited! Summer is my favourite time of the year. Although I do like Christmas time I soon find myself dreaming about summer and wishing that winter will end soon.

Here are some of my favourite things about summer:

  1. Waking up for work and it actually being light!
  2. Sunglasses.. yay!
  3. Not having to wear a big coat with every outfit
  4. Bright coloured clothes
  5. Summer dresses
  6. Being tanned (or in my case using dove gradual tan because I cant tan to save my life)
  7. Bright coloured nail polish
  8. Flower crowns
  9. Warm weather
  10. Longer days
  11. Sandals/flip flops!
  12. Long walks
  13. Ice cream
  14. My birthday is in summer
  15. Light nights
  16. Music

I can not wait until it starts to get a little warmer and summer begins, I just love it! Ooh also I have some exciting news! I took my driving theory test on Monday and I PASSED! *Yay* I am so excited because this means I am one step closer. I can not wait until I can drive and we get a car because then we will be able to do so much more. When you don’t have a car you are kind of limited in terms of places you can go. Lucas has booked his driving test for a couple of months time so fingers crossed!

I think a summer clothes shopping spree is definitely needed soon. What are some of your favourite things about summer?

♡ My Favourite Beauty Brands/Products 2015! ♡

Aviary Photo_130957977178515428

Hello everybody! I cannot believe that it is only a couple of days until the new year it is crazy! For todays post I decided to do a roundup of beauty products that I have been loving this year, some of them are new discoveries and some are ones I have loved for a long time but I am sure that I will continue to love and use them all in the upcoming new year.

  • Makeup revolution: I discovered this brand for the first time this year and it was love at first sight! All of their products are such high quality at an affordable price, the eye shadow palettes are highly pigmented and the packaging is always really nice.
  • Real Techniques: I had heard about this brand a lot but it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I decided to buy some makeup brushes by them. I bought the Core collection kit and when I tried the brushes I quickly regretted not trying them sooner. They are amazing- so soft and they apply makeup flawlessly.
  • Rimmel: Rimmel are a brand that I have loved for a long time, but I decided to include them in this post because I have found myself using quite a few Rimmel products this year. I have used and loved the Kate lipsticks, good to glow highlighter and a more recent favourite.. the brow this way eyebrow gel.

  • Garnier Micellar water: I love, love, love this stuff! After using it my skin just feels so clean and refreshed. Not only that but it removes makeup that I didn’t realise was still on my skin. For example, I would use a makeup wipe to remove makeup and then use the Micellar water and the makeup would still be coming off my skin and onto the cotton pad.
  • ProVoke touch of silver shampoo: I have been using this product a lot this year as I have mostly been blonde apart from a brief period when I decided I wanted a change in colour. This product works wonders on my hair and gets rid of any unwanted brassy tones from the first wash which I think is amazing!
  • Soap and glory: This was another product that I tried for the first time this year. It all started when I tried a sample size of ‘The scrub of your life’ and I instantly fell in love with the smell and with the quality of the product. I went into boots and bought clean on me, hand food and heel genius. I loved all of them especially hand food, I always use it as my hands tend to get pretty dry, especially in winter.

I have discovered so many new beauty favourites in 2015 and I cant wait to discover more in the new year!

Christmas Party Essentials ~ Collaboration edition!

Hello! I am very excited to be doing this post, I wrote a post last week asking if anyone would be interested in doing a group collaboration and the response was amazing. So thank you to all the ladies that joined in with this collaboration, I will add the links to their blogs at the end of this post as we have each written our 5 ‘Christmas party essentials’

Christmas is coming soon and that means the Christmas parties are too! Today I will be sharing with you 5 of my Christmas party essentials that I will be using this year.

False nails- I usually wear nail varnish but for special occasions I like to wear false nails because I think they look so much nicer than my natural nails. I got a pack of 500 clear full false nails from Ebay as I like to design my own. To design these ones I used a gorgeous dark plum nail varnish from Primark’s ‘P.S’ range with gold shimmer mixed in. For the glitter I used glitter acrylic powder, I also used this to create the glitter fade. I think these nails are perfect for Christmas and can add just the right amount of glamour to any outfit.

Lashes- These are another thing that I stick to wearing on special occasions. They are fun to wear and add a dramatic effect to any make up look. I chose these ones because I think they are the perfect length, I prefer natural looking ones rather than the thicker ones on me. Make sure to take your lash glue with you just encase they come a little loose later on in the night!

Perfume- This one is an essential for any party but I thought it would be fun to add into the post; this is the perfect fragrance for Christmas, it will leave you smelling lovely all night long. I chose ‘Angel’ by Thierry Mugler.. sticking with the Christmas theme! You could always take a smaller perfume or a body spray with you in your bag to top up while you are out.

V05 Ultimate hold Travel sized hairspray- I love these smaller sized hairsprays because they are perfect for popping in your handbag. This one is definitely an essential for me because my hair has a mind of its own…

Make up Revolution Pro Fixing spray- This comes in two different types; the normal one and the oil control one. I have the oil control one as I do have quite oily skin and this stops my skin from looking shiny and keeps my make up in place throughout the day. I feel this is definitely an essential for a Christmas party so that you can keep your make up looking perfect all night.

So those were my Christmas party essentials, I hope you liked them. I am very excited for upcoming celebrations, Christmas is my favourite time of the year!

Top 5 Beauty Products Under £5!

This one is a little different for a Sunday as I usually do my ‘This week I’ve been’ post, but I have decided I am going to change that to a monthly post. So I am here today showing you my top 5 beauty products for under £5.

Okay so in no particular order… these are my top 5 beauty products!

  1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water–  I know I just said in no particular order but this one really is my favourite product ever! I honestly would never go without this now that I have started using it. Not only does it remove all of my make up quickly and properly, it also makes my skin feel really soft! I have really noticed a difference in my skin since using this, it is also fragrance free so it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It comes in two different sizes: £1.99 for 125ml or £3.33 for 400ml. The smaller size is good for travel but obviously it is better value purchasing the 400ml one. You can get it here but it is also available at many other stores.
  2. Make Up Revolution Essential Mattes 2 Palette– This palette has 12 different shades of gorgeous matte eye shadows, at £4 it is really affordable for an eye shadow palette. I love the Make up revolution palettes because they are really pigmented and good quality at a great price. This palette is perfect for every day looks because the shades are matte, there is a mixture of light nude shades and darker shades to create the perfect smoky eye. You can get this palette from Superdrug here, or from the Make-up Revolution website.
  3. MUA Lipstick in the shade ‘Tulip’-  I really like the MUA lipsticks, the only ones I am not as keen on are the Matte ones because I feel that they do not apply as well as the other ones. This one however is not a matte one so I like it! I love the colour of it, it is a lovely light pink colour. I like to wear this on days when I am going for a lighter more natural make up look.

The MUA lipsticks are very affordable at just £1 each! You can get them from the Superdrug website here.

4. MUA Blush in the shade ‘Marshmallow’- Another MUA product! These blushes are perfect for any make up look, they come in 6 different shades, I have 2 of them and they are super affordable at £1 each! This blush is a little bright so I only sweep my blush brush over it very lightly for a more natural look. You can get these from the Superdrug website here.

5. Rimmel Brow This Way Styling Gel- This one is a new found product that I have instantly fell in love with! I use it after lightly filling in my brows to add a little more definition, mine is in the shade ‘Medium brown’ It also helps to set your eyebrows and keep the hairs in place throughout the day. It is available in light brown, medium brown and dark brown and also in clear. It is £3.99 and available in most make up stores, you can get it from the Superdrug website here.

So those are my Top 5 beauty products under £5! I hope you liked it and maybe it helped you find some new beauty products to try in the future if you haven’t tried them already.

Montagne Jeunesse.. Pamper Night Essentials!

I am a big fan of the Montagne Jeunesse face masks, I love them because there are so many different types; peel off, mud mask, sauna etc. While I was out shopping in Primark I spotted a Candyfloss scrub face mask, I am not sure if this one is new or not because I have never seen it before, so of course I had to buy it to try it out! Then while I was doing a little food shop at asda I spotted the Manuka honey hair mask which I know is new because it says so on the packet. I was especially excited to try this one as I have never used a hair mask by Montagne Jeunesse. So I am here today to do a review on both of these masks!

Manuka Honey Rescue Masque:

‘Our golden Manuka honey and nourishing Abyssinian oil rich in omega 3 goodness delivers nutrition to the roots of damaged hair in this velvety mask…’

I cant tell you how excited I was to try this! I used it after I had washed my hair in the shower with my usual shampoo and conditioner. The first thing I noticed was that it smelled absolutely amazing, if you like the smell of honey then you will love this! The mask was thick and applied easily onto my hair, I left it in my hair for 15 minutes as the packet said and then rinsed it out. As my hair dried I really noticed that it was a lot shinier, it did feel soft too although not as soft as some hair masks have made my hair feel in the past. The smell of the hair mask lingered on my hair which was great because it smelled really nice.

Overall rating: 9/10

Candyfloss Scrub Face Mask:

‘ A sweet treat for sparkling soft skin’

I loved the smell of this, it smelled like candyfloss (obviously) but who doesn’t like the smell of candyfloss?! The face mask had little beads in it to exfoliate the skin, I applied it onto my face using circular motions and then left it on for 15 minutes as instructed.

After I had washed it off my skin felt nice and fresh, it also felt really soft too! This was the first exfoliating face mask by Montagne Jeunesse that I have used but I was really impressed with it, especially because of the candyfloss scent!

Overall rating: 10/10

I will definitely be getting both of these again, especially the hair mask because of how good it smells and how shiny it made my hair look. Have you tried any of the Montagne Jeunesse face or hair masks? Which one is your favourite?
