NYX Lip liner and Soft Matte Lip Cream Review!

While on a shopping in Barnsley (a town near where I live) I popped into boots and spotted an NYX counter! I don’t have one where I live so I was sooo excited when I spotted it! Something I have been wanting to try by NYX for ages is their soft matte lip creams because I have heard so much about them. I had to stop myself from buying the entire counter haha so in the end I picked up these 2 items: The soft matte lip cream in the shade 06 Instanbul and the retractable lip liner in the shade soft pink.

Retractable lip liner (soft pink)- I am not a massive fan of retractable lip liners just because I feel like they don’t last as long as pencil liners but since I loved the colour of this I got it anyway. I love this lip liner because it is quite soft, when you apply this it glides on the lips and doesn’t drag. The formula is really good and doesn’t smudge when its on.

Soft matte lip cream (Istanbul)- I am in love with the shade of this lipstick! Its like a pinky nude shade and perfect to pair with neutral makeup looks. I like the formula of this because its not too drying and it doesn’t crack once it dries which is a problem I have with some matte liquid lipsticks. This is more like a cream as the name suggests, which I love.

Those are the swatches of the lip liner and matte lip cream! The lip cream isn’t quite that dark in person its slightly lighter but its soooo nice I love it!

These are the first products I have tried by NYX and I am very impressed. Both products stayed on really well and are really good quality for an affordable price at £5.50 each.

Have you ever tried any products by NYX? If you have any reccomendations please make sure to let me know in the comments below!

ELLE Exclusive ~ Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Eyelash Primer.

There were 2 things that drew me to this months issue of Elle magazine; Alexa Chung was on the cover and there was a free Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Tinted eyelash primer to try out before it hits the stores! Alexa looked amazing (as always!) on the cover and in the photo-shoot inside.

I was eager to try the primer because it is the first product I have ever tried by benefit, despite hearing many brilliant reviews about their products such as Porefessional face primer balm and ‘They’re real’ Mascara.

So on the box it says:

Works 2 ways!

  1. Wear as a mascara primer to dramatically boost length & separation.
  2. Wear alone to tint & define lashes for a feathery, natural look.

When I first looked at the brush of the primer I was a little worried as the brush did look a little longer than ones I am used to using, but it actually worked really well and covered all of my lashes. This is an important thing for me as my eyelashes are naturally blonde (ugh) and I need full coverage so that I don’t have any blonde eyelashes showing.

I have fallen in love with this and I would say you can definitely wear it on its own like the box says for a natural daytime look, it made my eyelashes look way longer but still natural looking. The colour is called ‘Mink-brown’ I really like the colour of it as I think it suits my colouring quite well. This was what my eyelashes looked like after using one coat of the eyelash primer:

I apologize for the bad lighting I took this at night and I didn’t want to use flash and blind myself haha! But as you can tell in this picture, using the primer alone made my eyelashes look lovely and long!

For this next picture I used the Rimmel Supercurl mascara over it for a thicker, more dramatic look:

I really noticed the difference using the eyelash primer under my usual mascara, it separated my lashes and made them look longer and more defined. Overall I am really impressed with the product and I definitely want to purchase this in the future, also after using this I definitely want to try the ‘They’re real’ mascara.

Have you tried Benefits new eyelash primer? What did you think of it?

The Lipstick Diaries..

Hello everyone! So today I thought I would talk about some of my favourite lipsticks at the moment, I have also included 2 lip-glosses because well, why not!

Clinique Pop lip colour and primer (sample size)- My most recent favourite is the cutest little lipstick ever! It is a sample that I got free in this months issue of Glamour (Featured here) The shade is ‘Nude pop’ which is perfect for me as I am sure I mentioned before I love nude shades. The formula of the lipstick is really nice and moisturising on the lips and it has a slight sheen to it.

Available to buy here.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer (301 Galaxy)- I got this one a few weeks back and I absolutely love the colour, it is like a deep plum colour and perfect for autumn/winter time. The only thing about this that I didn’t like at first was the smell, but I don’t mind it as much now and it makes up for it with the gorgeous colour!

Available to buy here.

Make-up Revolution #Liphug in ‘When you came to me’- This one was quite a recent purchase, I love this because it is a perfect every day nude shade. I have been wearing this quite a lot since I got it last week. I love these lipsticks because they are super moisturising and have a lovely shine too them. The only thing is that they don’t last as long as some other lipsticks I have, but I don’t mind that too much.

Available to buy here.

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in ‘Shade 28’- The first thing I want to say about this lipstick is that it smells amazing. I cant even describe the smell but its just like a really sweet and lovely smell. The colour of this is gorgeous, I would say this is also a nice everyday lip colour as it is a subtle light pink colour. I love the packaging of the Kate moss lipsticks too, unfortunately I only own one of these at the moment but I hope to get more of them soon!

Available to buy here.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer (500 Luna)- I got this one a little while after purchasing my first one in 301 Galaxy. I am not quite sure how to describe the colour of this.. its like a ‘peachy nude’ but I really love it.

Available to buy here.

MUA Lipstick ‘Shade 2’- This one for me is the perfect wintery lipstick, it is a dark plum colour and it is just gorgeous. I have used it on many occasions to create the perfect autumn/winter make up look. This lipstick also smells really nice too! I know the smell isn’t the main thing to look for but if the lipstick smells nice then that is always a selling point for me!

Available to buy here.

Lipsticks I want to purchase in the future:

MAC- I definitely want to try a mac lipstick as I am still yet to try one! I think the first one I would like to try would be Velvet teddy as I have heard many good things about this lipstick and I love nude shades.

Rimmel- I want to try more of the Kate moss rimmel lipsticks because there are so many gorgeous shades to choose from and at £5.49 they are affordable too!

What are your favourite lipsticks and which ones would you like to try?

This Week I’ve Been…

Its that time again! Another week has flown by and Christmas is just that little bit closer (not that I’m complaining- I love Christmas!) So this week has been quite a busy week, my partner and I are still saving for our trip away in January, I can’t wait, I have booked my time off work so now its all official!

So this week I’ve been…

Wearing my denim jacket… A lot. Can you believe it was only £2?! Its slightly oversized and I love it, its so cozy and perfect with a jumper underneath in winter.

Celebrating Bonfire night- We actually went out the day before to celebrate it. This worked out good because then on bonfire night I could be with our dog Patch, she hates the fireworks 😦 Anyway when we went out the night before bonfire night there was a lovely firework display, I love all the different colours that come out, they’re so pretty!

Going on lots of walks- As always my week also included going on a few walks so Patch gets lots of exercise. Although the weather has been colder I have been enjoying going out on winter walks.

Getting into the Christmas spirit- I know it is only November and its not quite time yet, but this week I have been feeling really Christmassy! I even went as far as wearing my Christmas socks yesterday haha, they are so cute I think I got them last Christmas. I definitely need to start Christmas shopping soon!

I have been thinking about changing these posts to monthly so it would be more like ‘This Month I’ve Been…’ But I’m not sure yet, I cant decide! What do you guys think?

Superdrug Haul!

I love Superdrug, there is such a wide selection of make up brands and so many different products to choose from, the only thing is my nearest one is quite far from me so I sometimes like to order online. So last Wednesday night after twiddling my thumbs for a while I finally caved in and made an order. They had a 3 for 2 offer on and you also got a free tote bag (Pictured above) so that was good too!

So the first thing I will show you is the lipsticks as I went a little lipstick crazy haha! I got the Liphug lipsticks by Makeup Revolution. I love the red packaging they came in- Very fancy!

These were 2 different sets ‘The nudes’ and ‘The reds’ there were 5 in each set for just £7.50 each, this is such a good price so if you love nude and red shades then I definitely recommend trying these out. They also had ‘The pinks’ which weren’t in stock when I ordered but I am definitely going to try those next time. I do realise that I have only included 9 shades in the picture, this was because I gave my partners mum one because she loved the shade! We are always swapping make up haha 🙂

From left to right; ‘Not giving up, When you came to me, Insatiable, I think you’re amazing, We have come too far, To get lucky, Saviour will come, I am ready, Who we are’

I am in love with all of these shades, I am also really impressed with the quality of these lipsticks, they have a lovely shine to them when applied and they are very moisturising on the lips.

The next thing I got was the ‘Redemption Palette Essential mattes 2’ by Makeup revolution. All the colours on this palette look amazing and I liked the thought of a palette for just matte shades.

I love all of these colours and they will be perfect for creating lots of different eye looks. I like how they are all matte because sometimes I prefer matte to shimmery.

The other palette I got was ‘Ultra 32 Shade Palette beyond flawless’ by Make up revolution. I love this so much all the colours are so pretty! There is a mix of matte, silk and shimmery shades in this palette and it is perfect for day and night time make up looks.

I have already used this palette since receiving it and I like it a lot! It is definitely my favourite out of the two even though they are both really nice.

The next thing I got was the Rimmel Supercurler mascara in Black. I saw this advertised and I just wanted to give it a try, after using this for a while I will post a review on it. I am eager to see if it does give your lashes that ‘curl’ effect.

The last thing I got was also from Rimmel and that was the ‘Brow this way’ styling gel. I am really excited to try this! I chose the shade ‘Mid brown’ I will also post a review on this when I have tried it out.

So that was everything that I got from Superdrug, I hope you guys liked it and  make sure to watch out for the reviews I will be posting on the Supercurler mascara and Brow this way in the next few weeks!

This Week I’ve Been…

Hello everyone! I am here again today to share some snippets from my week. I cant believe it is Sunday again and the end of another week. I also cant believe that today is the 1st day of November.. its crazy!

So, This week I’ve been:

-Out on lots of walks between work, I love going on walks so much, I took the first picture on Monday while my partner and I were out and I just thought it looked lovely. Despite it being quite cold it was actually quite a nice day on Monday and the sky was really nice and clear.

-Shopping! (as usual) I wanted to share this next picture because I am so excited about buying some more soap and glory products. After trying ‘The scrub of your life’ I fell in love and had to get some of the others to try out. I will post a review on them shortly. Also the pink jumper that you see in the picture I got on the same day, I was so happy that I found it because it is perfect and in my favourite colour- pink!

-Reading. I am currently reading Zoe Sugg’s second book ‘Girl online on tour’ And I have been glued to it. I definitely recommend it.

And of course the last picture is my gorgeous little girl Patch! I have made it a ‘thing’ now that she has to star in every ‘This Week I’ve Been’ post!

I have really enjoyed this week and have just overall been in a really good mood! 🙂

Happy first day of November everyone make sure to say ‘White rabbits!’ Does anyone else do that or is it just me?

Bye for now! 🙂

October Favourites…

Can somebody please tell me where October has gone?! I cant believe its almost November, I feel like I just blinked and October swept past me. Anyway, as it is almost the end of October I thought I would share some of the things I have been loving this month!

Collection ‘Eyes uncovered’ Palette

I won this in a giveaway a few weeks ago and I have loved it ever since! I am a big fan of all nude shades so this palette is perfect for me. I have been using it quite often recently, It is perfect for a more natural look.

So…? Sexy Body Fragrance

Ooooh I had never tried this one before but now I am in love! It just smells so lovely. The design on the can is cute too!

MUA lipstick in the shade ‘Totally nude’

I have been in love with this lipstick all month! Its a lovely nude shade and perfect for day or night make up looks. I definitely see myself getting more nude lipsticks in the future. I currently have my eye on the Kate Moss Rimmel nude lipsticks collection and MAC ‘Velvet Teddy’ but I may have to put that one on my Christmas list!

Rimmel BB Cream

I have mentioned this in one of my previous posts (here) I love it! It is perfect for the days when I don’t feel like wearing as much make up, or I am in a hurry which has been quite a lot this month!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing water

I have also mentioned this before but I just wanted to mention it in my favourites because now I have been using it continuously for a while I have really noticed a difference in my skin. I have way less spots and my skin just feels so much softer.

My partner got me this for my birthday back in July, this is more of an all time favourite but I just wanted to mention it because I love it! (And it looked pretty in the picture!)

I have really enjoyed this month, especially all the autumn leaves. I just love how they are all different shades scattered everywhere.

What were your October favourites?
